The Bible is the only inspired, true, written revelation from God to mankind. It contains both God's written will for our lives, as well as His promises to us. It is without error and applicable to any culture or era. It contains the truth about God, His Kingdom, Jesus Christ and the coming judgment of the world. The Bible is the only writing of God that all of mankind will be judged from. Scripture testifies about itself saying the "Word of the Lord will stand forever."
In a real God whose ancient name is Jehovah, the God of the Jews. This is the same God who created the heavens and earth, and all that is in and upon them, (Gen 1; Rom 1). Jesus said that God is Spirit (Jn 4:24). God has always existed and will continue to exist. He is perfect, unchangeable, holy and righteous. God is love, (1 Cor 13).
Mankind separated himself from God thru sin by intentionally disobeying the command of God. The first humans God created were named Adam and Eve. They lived in a garden called Eden. They had a perfect life until they chose to intentionally sin. Once man disobeyed God, the human heart was filled with sin and the perfect creative state that man enjoyed became corrupted. This act of disobedience created a huge gap between God and mankind. The one creation God made to fellowship with Him was now distanced from Him because of their wrong choices. Although mankind's choice to disobey hurt God, God chose to initiate a new relationship with mankind by dwelling in the human heart. In order to accomplish this plan, God sent Jesus to the earth.
God built a bridge back to mankind thru Jesus Christ by sending Jesus to die and resurrect from the dead. God knew this was the only way to save mankind. When Adam and Eve sinned against God, they brought into the human race a nature of sin. This sin nature is so strong in every person, that no one person can be righteous before God on his or her own. When Jesus came to the earth, He was fully 100% God. But He came in the form of a man, being born of a woman, (Gal 4:4). Even though He resembled humanity, He was holy and sinless. He lived His entire life without sinning or displeasing God, even though He had many opportunities to do so.
Because Jesus did not sin, when He was put to death on the cross, He died as a holy person resembling mankind, but still being 100% God. Then Jesus did something no one else has ever done. He rose from the dead and never died again. In fact, His resurrection from the dead is established by biblical and historical writers of that time. When Jesus rose up from the dead, He literally shook death off and then ascended to heaven to appear to His Heavenly Father. Death could no longer hold mankind in a grave and keep them from dwelling with God. This is why the Bible states no person can come to God unless they come through Jesus. Why? Because Jesus is God's solution to mankind's sin; He is God's bridge back to man.
Christ's sacrifice dis-empowered sin and brought blessing into our lives so we can live life at a higher level. Jesus gave His life as a sacrifice for our sin. When He did this, God proclaimed that there could never be a better sacrifice given for humanity's sin. Therefore, God said the only sacrifice He would ever accept for sin was Jesus. That is why the Bible states that if we will confess Jesus Christ as the ruler of our life, and receive His forgiveness for our sin, we will be given eternal life. In addition to eternal life, we also receive so many other benefits. Here are some of them:
|
Sanctification: This is the progressive work of grace that gradually separates us from worldly passions, desires, activities and relationships that are destructive. Sanctification means that every day we are growing more into the image of Jesus.
Healing: Jesus' body was ravaged with pain and suffering so we can live free from sickness and disease. The Bible teaches to pray for the sick and to ask for healing in Jesus name. We believe God can and will heal physical, emotional, mental and spiritual infirmities, wounds and hurts.
Favor: The Bible is clear that God desires to usher His favor into our lives. He wants us to walk in obedience so He can decorate our life with His favor. In fact, grace means unmerited favor. God is so awesome he pours into our life the very things we could never purchase on our own.
Relationship with the Holy Spirit: The Bible teaches that when we come to God, He also comes to us. In fact, His Spirit dwells in our heart through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God, just like Jesus is God. The only difference is that the Holy Spirit produces the works and mind of Jesus in our lives. The Holy Spirit inhabits our inner being with His presence, leading us into truth and power. |
The Holy Spirit dwells within us and empowers us in this life to live in victory, joy and peace while we exercise authority and power over the evil one. The purpose of God sending His Spirit to dwell within us is so that we can live with a divine inner presence of a life-giving God. The Holy Spirit brings power, peace, truth and comfort into the human mind, heart, spirit and soul. He is God's gift to mankind because Jesus paid the price for humanity's redemption.
The Bible teaches the Holy Spirit functions as a good deposit who guarantees the promises of God, Eph 1:13; a source of power and might, Ac 1:8; one who baptizes us in His fullness thru various Gifts of the Holy Spirit, Ac 2:4; one who brings spiritual gifts into our life, 1 Cor 12:3-11; as an intercessor, Ro 8:26; and as a revealer of God's will, 1 Cor 2:10-16.
Christians have a responsibility in their faith walk to develop their relationship with God, fellowship with others believers by attending church, grow in spiritual maturity and serve others.
In divine healing as something that is real, authentic and supernatural.
Christ's Kingdom is real and will be revealed to all mankind.
All men will be judged by God for their actions, words, deeds, and thoughts in this life. God will judge all the nations and humans since the beginning of time, giving to each one their eternal reward.
Heaven is a real place and hell and the lake of fire are real places in which all of humanity will exist in one or the other. Heaven will be for those who are found by faith to be in Christ Jesus, while eternal punishment in the lake of fire is for those who have rejected Christ as Lord.
